Miranda & Niels' Wedding Celebration

Miranda & Niels
Married: 5/29/10
It's crazy to watch the years go by & begin seeing your friend's children getting married. Really, we can't be that old! :} It was good friends, Tina & Dennis', turn to marry off their daughter. Though they had gotten married in the temple earlier that morning, they wanted to be sure to have a separate ring ceremony/reception for their family & friends to be a part of. It was a beautiful setting & a wonderful afternoon!
The proud parents looking sharp
The men in their finest
Tina & Miranda
Glad we could be a part of the celebration!
The beautiful cake
The newlyweds mingling with the crowd
The family all enjoying the event
Just a few of their fine guests.....
"YEA...A chocolate fountain!! I can't get ENOUGH chocolate!" :} (So much for that white sweater she had on! :})
Time for the dancing to begin...
Proud Parents watching over
Daddy & Daughter Dance....precious!
And then time for the Mom & Son Dance...
For a special treat, they both learned how to play the guitar & do a duet together.
Singing to Plain White T's "I Love You"
Brother, Josh, doing his own musical number. He is quite talented with the guitar!
Dennis giving a toast
A few random cute moments throughout the afternoon
I love seeing these precious Daddy & Daughter moments! :}
It was then time to cut the cake
No playing nice here! :} The throwing of the bouquet And then for the garter belt. He was being the Gentleman at first....
...hey, he had to get it! :}
Ha Ha....look at Dylan jumping up, like a foot off the ground! :}

A beautiful day/ceremony was just what many of us needed after the past couple weeks, especially having a big scare with Jacob's status the night before. The thought of seeing one friend's child celebrate their special day, and another's fighting for their life, made for a bitter sweet day. But, fortunately it all worked out well & Jacob made it through that frightening 24 hours! Congratulations to the newlyweds!!

Memorial Weekend Fun with the kiddos

Our goal for the long holiday weekend was to spend quality time with the kiddos. We got to include the Moulton kids, with the exception of Jacob, who is still hospitalized & unfortunately has taken a big turn for the worse. It's been a very traumatic roller coaster ride this past couple of weeks, and crazy how fast it's all happening. He is fighting hard for his life (but, still hanging on...don't give up hope yet!! Keep those prayers coming that he finds a liver real soon!!). But, considering there was a few moments when we thought he wouldn't make it; to being told he had to have one within a week, and then to needing one within 48 hours; to his other organs wanting to shut down; and still being here today & now alert 8 days later (which was another feat), is amazing in itself. But, again, we realize he's not out of the woods yet & something really needs to happen soon for him to survive. It's kind of strange to think how much you want this to happen, knowing it takes someone else to lose their life for this to occur. I realize this is all in God's hands & what is meant to happen will..it's just so hard to watch him, and his family, suffer like this! So, with all this we knew it was important to have some fun & get their minds off of it for now. Since they are like family to us, we were more than happy to have them join us! Maddy here is quite entertaining herself. We had some non-stop giggle moments at breakfast with her burping, and then continuing to keep burping the more everyone laughed (OK, so we tried telling her it wasn't good manners; but, hard to do when every one's laughing! :})
You'd think Kaley & Bailey were sisters...they are inseparable. Though they did have a drama moment or two (just like I remember with my own sisters! :})
I know this has been real rough on Connor, as he is the oldest sibling who just wants to take care of his little brother and sisters...poor guy! Getting a game of basketball in with the other friends, was a good way to clear his mind!
It doesn't take much for the girls to keep themselves entertained!
Maddy has got some dance moves down! :}
They got some game time in
We got the fire pit going so we could pretend we were camping (though a little cold still to put the tent up for them). So Maddy was attached to Bradon, it was too cute. And fortunately he was real patient with her, despite him saying "Man, she's a lot of work sometimes!" :} Here she is trying to steal "Bally" from him (the football he hardly puts down!)
"Nope, you're not getting it!" (look at that pout! :})
"Oh, yes I am!"
"Bradon, you need to give it to me right now!"
Making smores is always a hit with kids (and adults), right?! No, I didn't make a full size one...that wasn't me! (oops, I got caught! ;})
We finished up the time by taking them all to see Shrek: Forever After, which was a cute show!
We all got a good laugh in seeing the Baby Ogre's as they belched, reminding us of our breakfast time that morning with Maddy. The boys all looked down at the aisle & said "Maddy" at the same time, which made her giggle again...too funny!)

I hope they had a fun weekend & for at least the 28 hrs or so that we had them. I hope they were able to clear their minds & not think about the rough time they are going through. That's all we can ask! And what a lesson it is for our own kids...how much they learn from understanding reality & true caring for mankind (and true friendships).

Welcoming Sandra to the "40 & Fabulous Club"

It was about time Sandra finally hit the new decade with the rest of us! :} Her sister, Joan, thought it would be fun to surprise her with a few friends/family over to give her a bit of a "Roast to Getting Older". SURPRISE!
She had this well planned out, with songs & readings from different family members. Of course, the jokesters that they all are, they weren't about to let her turn 40 without plenty of harassment!
"And we crown you the Queen of the Golden Years"

To the tune of "Do your ears hang low", the words were changed slightly to represent other things hanging low as you age :}
Gotta have that prune juice!
The best gift of the night, so craftly sewn by her own mother! Speaking of the song above...(and yes, those are "granny panties" on her head too! :})
Let's just say there's a little extra room for things hangin'
Ha Ha
It's OK Sandra, it's really not that bad! :}

Glad I could be a part & celebrate the fun with her (despite the fact I was told I am NOT ALLOWED to post any of this. But since when do I listen?! :})

Happy Birthday Daddy-O!

Another birthday comes & goes for Doug. It's funny how we don't seem that much older than when we first got together 22 years ago! It was a nice relaxing day, which he hopefully enjoyed. We decided to do what Doug loves most...hitting a few balls, so we headed off to Mulligans. We started at the golfing range, of which we all got our attempts in (yea, I'm still trying to learn how....someday maybe! :})

Cute to see big brother trying to help his sis! :}
From there we hit the batting cages, which was all fun & games until Dylan managed to get his finger smashed by a fast pitch. Ouch! We then finished up the day with a nice dinner & gifts for Daddy...you know, the usual birthday stuff.
Happy Birthday Doug...hope you had a nice day!
Love ya babe!
