Lil' Ms. Justice

As you know, our little princess is all about "the style" these days. The only place she cared to go to for school clothes was her favorite place...Justice! She is all about the plaid, and skirts, and loves the peace symbols they often have on their clothes. So, as a friend's daughter (who is a manager at one) saw her 1st day of school picture, she just loved it & wanted one for each day of the week (since she knew Kaley had it all planned out :}). I don't get it, I just didn't really care at this age, which is evident on my pictures at this time! :} I think we are in big trouble! I don't promote this really, she just has her own personality..what can you do?! Oh, and look who lost a tooth again on the 1st day of school! She really is getting bigger! :{
I really think we're in for some trouble! :}

Concert Week...Part 2

(Continued.....) The next night was time to ROCK OUT! And rock out we did! Our little family are all big fans of Nickelback! (guess it's in the blood or something :}). Poor Dyl probably wanted to go more than anyone; but, he had a football scrimmage he couldn't miss. As I explained, that's just a lesson in life...sometime you do what you have to do, not what you want to do. Life goes on...you'll catch the next one! :} So, Bradon fortunately got to take a friend instead. Despite all the other friends of ours that would have liked the ticket, it seemed only fair he had someone to hang with! Sometimes we're nice parents like that! :} He got to take his best buddy, Connor, who is also a big fan & had never been to a concert before. Despite possibly being in a bit of culture shock, I know they had a great time! :} It's all good, they're good little men who can handle it!
We missed the 1st of 4 bands, Saving Abel. But, got there in time to catch Papa Roach
We got to meet up with friends like Sandra, Jerry & her son, James (Happy Birthday James! :})
And even her nephew, Austin (and his cute wife), who we used to babysit when he was a little guy! That was fun to see him again!
Next up was Hinder. Yea, they rock too! :}
Rockin' on as the sun goes down! You've got to love the whole atmosphere of Usana & an open air concert! It's a great set up!
"Ummmm, food!" (they are at that age where they can always eat at any given moment!)
Then it was time for Nickelback....WHOO HOO!! (that was me reliving the moment they came out, ha ha :})
"If Everyone Cared....."
(OK, I realize they also have their typical rock n' roll music; but, I love that they also have songs with insightful words, like this & "If Today Was Your Last Day")
They showed different political activists on screen who are doing their part to make the world a better place, like U2;s Bono & NelsonMandela. It was awesome! Really, think about....if everyone cared, the world would certainly be a better place!
Chad Kroeger also kept us entertained with talking in between. He kept the crowd involved, which made for a fun show! :}
And as you can see on the screen, the audience is having a great time!
Continuing to keep us entertained...
Oh those two little lovebirds, I tell ya! :}
Our boys enjoying the show (really, they are despite the looks on all their faces! :})
Ruby & her cute daughter (as my boys pointed out the 1st time they saw her :}), Amanda
Glad we got Stacey out & that she didn't sell her ticket like she was trying to! :}

What is it about music & concerts that is just so much fun?! I don't know; but, I like it whatever it is!! Maybe it's just because so many people can relate to any given song, or have a certain memory connected to a particular tune. Maybe it's because it brings friends & loved ones together. Or maybe it's just because it feels your soul with goodness! :} I mean, how can I live by my Motto to "Keep On Dancin'" without it?! :}

Concert Week!! (Part One)

Finally, the much anticipated concert week came upon us! The one we were looking forward to all summer! If you know us, you know we LOVE our music & concerts. I tell you though, we're nothing compared to Suz & Maryann...I don't think those two miss anything (I'm so jealous! :}). But, I have to give them credit for making sure that we don't miss some of the must sees! :}

So, first came our Girl's Night Out to relive our 80's with Depeche Mode! And, because we are silly girls, we thought we'd have some fun with it & dress appropriately for the occasion! (OK, so we were like the only ones; but, who cares...we had fun, that's all that matters! :} Our hair wasn't nearly as big this night as I remember it being in the 80's :}). I can't tell you how many times I played some of there songs over & over & over again! (like Somebody, Just Can't Get Enough & Blashpamous Rumors for example)
Ha Ha...yea, I'm a dork, what can I say?!
All having a fabulous time! :}
They had some interesting displays going on in the background
Then we managed to get up a lot closer! (Thanks nice Security Guard! :}) We were dancing (and sweating) our hearts out!
They've still got it!
Great show indeed! After almost 30 years together, and continuing to have new albums, they certainly had a large play list to choose from (just bummer I didn't hear my most favorite songs I mentioned above...hate it when that happens :{ But, I do understand, they have a lot of younger fans who they also need to play to. Guess we were the old ones there! :}). Yea, us girl's know how to have fun...that's all we really want! :}

Camping In The Backyard

We never can get enough camping trips in each summer. Sadly, just not enough time! Trust me, if we did, you would see us camping a lot more! Sometimes we're too busy to even make it up the canyon, so good thing there's always the back yard as a backup! :} All you need is a tent, a portable fire pit (well, and a backyard :})...and you're good to go!

Of course this must involve making s'mores....a camping necessity!
And to do it right....you must let the marshmallow on fire! :}
It always helps to have Dylan around for entertainment! :}
Since Asia was sleeping over, the girls took over the tent. And of course this managed to involve a pillow fight! :}
Oh, fun times! Fortunately we get our Annual Bonko Camping trip coming up next weekend, so at least we get one more in before it starts getting cold again. Can't wait...that's always the favorite weekend of the year! :}
