Mommy Massage Makeover

Oh, the things us parents must do to keep our kids entertained! Kaley insisted on opening up her own salon called "The Hangout". I was the lucky recipient of a free "Mommy Massage Makeover". And since I love purple, she insisted I have the purple extension & makeup (lovely! :})
8 going on 16!
Aren't we just so cute?!
She loves to wear my glasses & pretend she's older. If only she knew it's not quite so fun all the time!
Oh, gotta love parenthood!! This would be enjoying it while I can!! :}

New Years Celebrations..on to 2011!

This year's New Year's Eve Celebrations involved kid fun & game time with a few of our close friends. Of course, as always whenever anyone is over at our house, it also included some dance performances. Is anyone surprised here? :}
Go Bailey!
And how fun it is to watch Maddy perform with her natural attitude going on! :}
Not sure how many times outfits were changed; but, let's say...a lot!
Go Kaley!
I don't know what it is about Maddy that just cracks me up!
1,2,3...JUMP!
Cute girls, what can we say?
Good thing Doug is such a good sport! :}
All hoping for a much better year ahead!! But, sure glad we had each other to get us through it! :}
Cheers to saying Good Riddance to 2010!
Now to New Year's Day for Round 2. Of course, once again, performances were involved! :} This time was to one Kaley made up to the Killer's Song, "Boots" (which Kaley & I just love!)
And for the perfect ending...:}
So glad the Thropp Family could join us for some game time
How fast our kids grow!
HAPPY NEW YEAR...MAY 2011 BE PROMISING & FULL OF HOPE!! :}

Utah Winters

I like to say it's a Love/Hate Relationship with Utah Winters. Sure the snow is pretty, especially just after a big snowfall & then when the sun comes out. Or better yet, from your window as you're all cozied up inside! Driving in it, not so fun! (though was funner when I had my old 4x4 Blazer! :}). So here's a good example of the torture we go through living here. This was what we were getting just before New Year's. This is after I shoveled out to just open my car door! Then I had to drive to the other side of the valley in this?! Oh, these are the days I miss being a "stay at home Mom"! :}
Doug digging himself out
But, winters also bring the Holidays, when we get to put up the Christmas lights. Doug did a fabulous job, once again, in decorating the house. I also love to see the lights under the snow after a good storm like this!
Yep, I think we got a lot of snow last night!
The next day as the sun came out. This is when it looks pretty! Not so much a few days later when the muck in the air covers it all!
Our poor pine trees were sagging like the tree in the Grinch! :}
So, yea, I love Utah really...it has been my home for most of my life (with the exception of my 1st 2 years in California...so, I can still officially say I'm a California Girl by heart! :}). But, this is the time of year when I seriously contemplate why I haven't moved somewhere warmer yet!! Only 2-3 more months of this (of course, you NEVER know around here!)

Dance Performances Winter 2010

As being a part of the Dance Family, we enjoy looking forward to the performances & recital that come every December. It's fun to watch these kids grow & progress in thier dance abilities. Kaley was very excited for this year since it was going to be her 1st lyrical routine, which apparently "Only the big girls get to do lyricals!" Really she was more excited about the costume since it was a "lyrical flowing dress"! I do admit, it is awfully cute & does flow well! :}
The first event was the Dickens Festival. OK, so this was funny...I thought, hey, look how I captured that move perfectly in the air & all. This is until I realized everyone else had all ready landed. Ha Ha...appears she wanted to create her own solo moment in the routine! :}
The song they danced to was "She Was A Butterfly", very cute!
Cheyanne's group had one of my favorite songs, Hallelujah. Loved the routine!
Everyone did fabulous, as always
It's always so fun to watch the little ones! :}
It was also entertaining to watch Davey & Jordan on the ride after
This was a great Santa. I haven't been to this festival in a while, hopefully next time I'll be prepared to do some shopping! :}
Next was performing at the SLCC Basketball game

Oh, well that's sweet Kaley! :}
They were excited to see the Mascots! :}
And the Bear was fond of Ms. Diane! :}
Bring on the dancers....
See how it flows? :}
And then to the Recital. This year's recital was, once again, a bit emotional, as fellow Dance Sister, 10 year old Taylor, had just been diagnosed with cancer this week.
Diane proudly announced we changed our charity funds to go to her family to help with the medical bills. That's the thing I love about Dance Biz the most....it is like one big family who takes care of each other!
Let the show begin....
Our cute lil' bug patiently waiting for her 1st of 4 routines this night
And once again, let's see it flow! :}
Kaley & her class doing their Hip Hop routine. She's definitely got the attitude down!
Katie was very helpful in making sure she got all her costume changes in time & back on stage when needed!
Time for Dylan, aka: Flex, and the rest of the crew to show us what they've got
GO FLEX! :}
The Hip Hop classes have really grown with all age groups. They seem to have a lot of fun with it, and it's always entertaining to watch!
And now for Dance #3, as the Babez do a Christmas Tap for us
And the show continues...
Hey,  even the Grinch wanted to dance! :}
And to her last routine of the night as her cheer group brings it on
The final routines of the night...
Can you pick Dylan out? Maybe the one trying to get a LITTLE more attention than the others?! :}
Calvin getting one last spin in
Sure nice of Santa to come to the Recital every year! :}
GREAT JOB TO THE DANCE BIZ CREW...YOU MAKE US PROUD & WE LOVE BEING PART OF THE DANCE FAMILY!!
