Halloween Fun

You know, you've just got to love Halloween & the excuse to dress up & be silly!! Whether you're a child, or an adult...it's just a fun holiday! Usually we are going from one party to the next, missing some at both of the annual get-togethers that our good friends have; but, this year, fortunately, they were separate weekends, so we got to fully enjoy both. Now I realize the holiday is really first & foremost all about the kids, so we'll start there. They sure do make it fun! It was a busy week full of events...between the parties at dance classes, the school carnival (which I have to say, even though I still worked at a table this year, was MUCH nicer since I was just helping the PTA verses being one of the ones running it, and staying very late to finish up, like the last few years! That was a day I dreaded during that time!! I know that sounds selfish since others had to still run it; but, I had my turn!), the school parade & of course, trick or treating itself...it was an eventful week!

Our cute lil' witch!

Kaley with her friends, Hailey & Asia...ready to go trick or treating!The boys (Bradon as "The Ultimate Utes Fan" & Dylan as the Reaper) with thier friends, Moses, Alex & Jose
"No more pictures, we've got candy to get!" I can see the cavities forming now!!Every year we also look forward to having a Halloween class at Jazzercise. Here's our silly Tracy as the blind referee (I think I've seen a few of them at some football games this year!)A few of our students who played along...Jeanette, Beth, Ashley & Shauna

The first annual party was at Connie, Laci & Nick's. Always a super fun time! This year it was an "80's Theme"...oh, now there was a flashback from my ol' days!! And too funny...whether you were in the Rocker 80's, New Wave 80's..or any other Genre, it was all about big, bold & gaudy!! Anyone who lived those days knows they were a victim too...it was hard to escape! I still can't believe I wore so much makeup! now I understand what my mom was talking about! :} Another funny part about this party was that we were supposed to also bring pictures of us from the 80's...oh, that was hilarious! Doug & I met in 1988...so, our first years together is a laugh in itself, we were SO YOUNG! I also pulled out the Jr. High & High School scrapbooks...haven't seen those in years! Oh, the memories! Fun to have Colleen & TC join us...though seeing TC in a mullet & short cut offs was a little scary in itself! :} Always fun to be with Connie & Laci! Nick as "Chucky" (just didn't have his mask on here), Rod as Magnum PI & of course, had to have a little bit of "Kiss" there These two (Ghostbusters & the one in beautiful 80's aerobic wear, inspired by Olivia Newton John herself) showing us a few 80's dance movesThe other annual bash was at Lisa & Tony's. They also really get into it & know how to throw a party! Besides just some Halloween fun, we also were glad they had the Utes game on at their house (since we don't have the Mountain network...we didn't have it. I hate that!)

Doug & another Jazzercise student, Cindy, watching the game. It was a close one; but, we pulled through! The wonderful hosts themselves...
Continuing on with the 80's theme (and since I got my other costume pretty sweaty at class), I decided we'd rock it up a bit for the next party. Sad that my hair is pretty big anyway & didn't take much effort to fluff it up! :} Tracy playing a little Pulp Fiction
I have to say Deb made a darn good Joker!
And Zana as the kitty...check out her eyes, awesome! Fred looking awfully scary!Miwa as Wonder Woman...you go girl! Carol & John....Carol would have fit into the 80's party great!!Gary & Nicole...cute, loved their costumes!Funny to see Gary with some hair again! :}Glad Dave, another one of our Jazzercise students, came to the party too (see, there are men who do it...I don't care what ya'll say!) Another couple, Amy & Jason, that we see often through some other mutual friends, Sunnee & Jeff...small world, you never know who knows who!OK, this guy was just freaky! This head was huge! Hard to really tell in pictures; but, his forehead is just to the teeth of the mask. And the eyes would wobble...creepy!Party on!Another fun Halloween down in the record books. On to the beginning of the holidays once again!

Happy Birthday Greg

October is quite the month of birthdays...many of our friends have birthdays this month. Something special about it I tell ya! :} Well, our brother (in law), Greg, is also one of them! We enjoyed having a night out with him & a bunch of his friends...he had quite the turnout! And of course, any extra time we get with Jazzlin is always good too! :}
Dyl was just messin' with me here, he really wasn't just having a terrible time as it appears!
Greg & his best friend, Chris (who I also used to work with years ago at Applebees...small world!)
Kaley sure luvs her Jazzy!
Happy Birthday Greg! (and all you other October birthdays!!)

Meanwhile, back in SLC

Yes, just because all my posts have been about the big trip, life has not stopped around home. So let me now try to catchup what's been going on around here. We'll start with football since life is all about football at this time of year. The season is coming to and end (the regular season is done, they are just now currently participating in the Jag Bowl..which they won the 1st game! ). I did have to miss one of the Utes home games while we were gone (though I did get to see part of it @ a local Sports Bar while in NY..fun, just not quite the same as being there!). And what a game that was! Utes kicked some booty in that one! The highlight though had to have been the Halftime Show...when Kaley, her friend, Asia, and cousin Brianna, got to join the the cheerleaders for the annual Halftime Spectacular. It's a fun charity event they do where the girls get to learn a cheer or dance & go out & perform at halftime. She was so excited for it & glad she gets the chance to participate!!
This year's team...The Granger Midgets
The team getting riled up before the game
Bradon & team in action
The proud parents with our little man
We appreciate Uncle Greg & Aunt Angie there to support him at his games
Cute moment at halftime with Jazzy on the see-saw
We also appreciate Taylor & Colleen, who were also there to cheer him on!
The day of the game in the pouring rain (and our fundraiser BBQ)
Yea, just a little bit of rain! :} It was crazy! I think the boys enjoyed playing in the mud though!They were excited to win the first round in the Jag Bowl! Kaley with her cousin, Anjila, getting ready to go out for the halftime showShe's a natural! :} Brianna in on the fun too!By the way, speaking of football....you know, just in case you've missed it. Our Utes are 9-0 Baby!! Ranked #8 in the BCS Standings! That's right...we rock! :}
