2011 Summer Concerts

Though I was really hoping to see Michael Franti & Spearhead (who has been one of my favs this past year!), I wasn't sure it was going to work out, being that it was the week of Dad's passing. But thanks to dear friends, Kathleen & Troy, we made it & it was just what I needed after a long week of planning for the funeral. If you don't know the group, I suggest you check them out....with their fun Reggae sound, and uplifting music, they really know how to fill your soul with goodness! And they're all about helping to make this world a better place, so how could you not like him?! :} It was a beautiful night at Red Butte! The sun setting against our mountains made for a gorgeous view!
Beach balls were flying all around, which added to the fun environment.
I hadn't been to a show up there yet, it was a great setting!
OK, so I still can't  believe this happened; but, when I decided to go to the restroom, sure enough, it was when he came out to the crowd. And as I'm making my way back, I see he is standing EXACTLY where I was! There's Doug at his feet...who apparently gave him a High 5 & told him his wife loves him! :} Serious?! By the time I made it back, he had  began to move over.
They put on a very entertaining show. He finished it up by bringing all the kids (young & older ones), on the stage to sing & dance with him.
Next was a night up at Deer Valley for a night with my girls. This time to see Joy & Eric, a local band we were 1st introduced to at the English Beat concert earlier in the year. They also have a great sound!
Those Hot Mamas that I'm proud to call my friends! :}
It was another beautiful night on the mountainside!
These kids were having fun with the hula hoops...this little girl was going on forever. It was crazy!
The other hula-hoopers were having their own fun.
I'll post this only because it was a happy memory & I love these girls...though I really should never take one of these pictures giving me more chins than I all ready have! :}
Once again, we were very entertained by them!
Fun Fun! :}
Hearing them play Somewhere Over The Rainbow, while the kids sat around them, was beautiful!
Thanks for the great show guys!

Another School Year Begins

And just like that...here we go again with the 1st day of school upon us! This time we have kids in all 3 schools: Bradon, Granger; Dylan, Valley; Kaley, Farnsworth. Wow...how could this be possible since I'm only 29?! Ha Ha! :} OK, 39 now! :} You've got to get the traditional 1st day picture. Here they are being their "serious" selves! (well, except Kaley :})
 Or their normal selves :}
 Well, Kaley thought that was her 1st day of school at least. Turned out her tummy didn't agree with her. We thought it was the 1st day jitters...new Principal (oh, gonna miss Mrs. Kissell though! :( ), new teacher, new class; but, turns out she might have gotten a mild touch of West Nile. Not positive; but, her attack of the mosquitoes certainly got her! :(
   Poor thing! But, fortunately much better now, and was able to have her own special 1st day of school! :}
  I wuv my Boo-Boo! Glad she's much better! :}
 She really wants to wear my glasses today! (why, I don't know!)
 Sweet brother, Dylan, offered her to sleep in his room tonight. They just pulled the mattress in.
 Do you think we'll ever get her to quit sucking her thumb?!
 We'll just say Goofball in action...but, we'll leave it at that! :}
 He does love his sister! :}
Good luck on the new school year kiddos! Know Mom & Dad are sure proud of you!! :}

Family Fun at Murray Park

While Laurie & Jenny were still here, we thought we'd take full advantage of a family night at the park together....just like the good old days! :) Too bad Steve & Kerri had to get right back home. Just can't ever get enough family time!  :)
Glenn sure loves his sisters...ALL 6 of us! :)
...and aren't they looking patriotic tonight! :}
After the prior week, it was nice to have a relaxing night together to just chill & talk the night away!
Glad Aunt Toots could make it too...good to have her here from California!
It was so good for the cousin's to have all the quality time together! Especially when they live far away...gotta soak it all up! Fortunately Mary & Jon were such good sports!! :}
Nothing like cousins! :}

See that scowl on her face?! It MUST have been being forced to wear this shirt! Ha Ha :} If only she came home in 3 days, instead of sleeping over with her cousins, she might have had something else to wear! :} (kidding of course...thanks for taking care of her Annie! You can try all you want; but, not sure you'll convert her! :})
I LOVE MY SISTERS! (yes, all 6 of them! :})
Glenn thought maybe he'd lie down for the 1st time in, oh, a few days/week maybe? Peace Bro!
Getting in some silly time with the Eva & Joshua!

Of course we have to attempt the classic "Leach Squishy Face Pictures" :}
OK, so it broke the rules as far as "holding the camera & seeing how many faces you can get in it". But, can I just say, I LOVE this picture! :}
I know it's extra hard for Jen, as I know she is homesick anyway, and wants to be surrounded by her family at this difficult time. As long as she always knows we are always here for her! :)
Luckily Jen got to stay a few weeks (good timing I guess? :}). So, we snuck in one more before she left.
Bradon got to introduce Kyra to the family (oh, aren't they just cute?! :})
I'm sure I have the cutest nieces & nephews ever! :}

As well as the cutest Grandma(s)! :}

More squishy face photos! :}

Joshua is ready for some pie!
Silly Sam! :}

Of course brother had to follow...."Give me a big kiss Mom!" :}

Getting in a round of Phase Ten

I'm so glad the kids got to know their cousins a bit more!
Dylan doing one of his poses he likes to do..yes, he's a little stud! :}
I wuv ya buddy! :}
Uncle Glenn seems to always get in a wrestling match with the little ones! (maybe because he's just a big kid himself? :})
Superboys!
Then we got our own sleepover before they left. The girls were busy painting nails & being little girls! :}
You can't go wrong with video games when boys are together, right?! :}
Oh, good times...have I told you I love my family today?! :}
