Dance Biz Holiday Performances..

This year made for a busy recital as a "Dance Mom" (which I still have not perfected, always forgetting something! Fortunately it was close enough for Doug to run home & get the important bag that had almost everything we needed! Serious...how could I forget it? I had it by the door all day to make sure I didn't! :}). Now that Kaley is in 3 different classes (she insisted, and of course, I gave in! :}), it made for a few extra routines. Which was great, don't get me wrong! I just need to perfect the quick costume changes (since she barely made it out to the hip-hop dance just as they were about to go on! :}). But, fortunately she made it, and did fabulous (of course! :}). And luckily I didn't have to even worry about Dylan & any costume changes there! She does have the bootie shaking down pretty well! :} We sure do appreciate our dear friends who were able to make it & be there to support our kids! (and of course, Bradon, who I'm sure would rather be elsewhere! :})Finally it was Dylan's turn! And despite missing the 1st part of the season, due to conflicts of schedules with football, he stepped right up & did his thing!
Much to do with his fabulous instructor, Terry!
The most touching part of the night was when they did "Cathy's Dance". Cathy was the Co-Owner of the studio who sadly lost her battle to breast cancer, just as the new season was beginning. She was such an inspiration to so many. We know it's been real hard on her best friend, Diane, who has run this with her for so many years. Diane has had to take on all the responsibilities of running the place (with much thanks to the older girls by her side!)....and has done a fabulous job! Diane is also a huge inspiration to these girls. I know this special heartfelt dance, that her daughter put together, meant the world to her (as well as it did to the girls & everyone watching!)
And to catch the big group hug after when the curtain closed was also very touching! Lindsey, Cathy's daughter here, who is also an instructor & fellow dancer at the studio, is so lucky to have these girls by her side!
Once intermission was over, and we could dry our tears from that touching dance, it was time for the Younger Cheer Squad to pick us up again! ( it's easy to tell which one is Kaley here, with how much pizazz she puts in her moves! :})
And while preparing for their final routine, they were back in their dressing room, being their cute selves! :}
It was fun to see my previous co-worker, Jessica, and her daughter, who started this year
It's so cute to see the little ones out there! :}
And fun to see Cheyenne (who's pretty much like our 2nd daughter) grow each year too!
Great job kiddos....Mom & Dad sure are proud of you!! :}
So, besides the Christmas Recital itself, they also got to do a couple of other charitable events, like the West Jordan High's "Make A Wish Fundraiser"
(and since I can't get enough pics of my sassy lil' girl...)
..and also at a local Retirement Home, which I know brightens up their day to get to see the kids perform!

Oh, how fun to see our kids enjoy the art of dance! :}
