Mexico Adventure: Chapter 11-The Thrill Of A Lifetime!

Since we got some days added to the trip, we did a little research to see what kind of thing we wanted to do most while we were there. We decided on the zip line in the Mexican Jungles. We were up bright & early (OK, not real early; but, for vacation it was! :}) to meet our shuttle.

Our 1st stop to get signed in & on with the fun!
Our tour guide, funny guy, Manuel
On our way up to the hills
On the way up it was starting to rain pretty hard. Poor Aisha & Jeresa were getting dumped on through the netting!

Sucks to be in the front row, ha ha! :}
There was a few zip lines to choose from; but, this one was actually on the set of the film, "The Predator", which was pretty cool!
They had some fun with this with their own Predator going around trying to scare us (and he did get Tina good! :})

 It was such a beautiful setting, we were all ready excited for the zip line itself; but, being in such a serene place was an added bonus!
Yes, there were creatures! We were in the jungle after all! :} I'm fine with it, really...as long as they're not sneaking up on me. Since these pictures were taken by the professionals, I didn't have to get near.
I would have liked to see the  turtle actually; but, those who know me, know I am NO fan of snakes! So, if this guy would have been on my line as I was coming down, I'm sure I would have just had a heart attack!
This is what we were putting our lives at steak with. One single pulley & your harnessing. Really, it was all good, we were safely buckled in & got the lessons before hand to have some control!
And this is just a couple of who we were putting complete trust in, to make sure we got back safely!
(yea, it was rough; but, somehow us women were OK! :})
Our strong group of women geared up & ready for the adventure ahead!
We were off...starting out with a few easier runs to get the feel.

Tina had the guys, and us, laughing with her attempt at Spanish! :}
"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE........."

"Deanna, How did this bolt that fall off?!" (Ha Ha)...I think they liked to mess with us! :}
 You have to love some of the facial expressions you'd see. Especially from Jules...she was like a little kid on Christmas! I love her cute smile! :}
Not all landings were smooth. They would give you a signal to tell us when to start slowing down, and wanted to be sure you didn't stop in the middle; but, regardless, there was the stopper at the end that would catch you. Sometimes I swear they never gave us the signal at all, though they'd tell you if one was supposed to be coming, before you left that one. Again, I think they just like to mess with us! :}
And we were always happy to be on the ground again! :}
OK, so speaking of expressions...Tina was cracking me up. She always had this serious face going on (I know she was having fun, she was just hot & miserable!). But, she'd still give you a smile at the end! :}
Then some landings got a little more intense, which created some classic landings & obvious looks of thrill on our face!
I have to give Aisha the best one though...I was right before her on this one, and she had me laughing so hard!
We had a total of 12 cables on this run. Our guys continued to keep us safe.
They told us to not touch the clips, that they would take care of it all. I had to laugh at the constant look of these girls, as if they were under arrest! :}

Winding up the afternoon with our final run, as our minds and souls filled with the excitement of the day!
Some of our camera crew
Our fun tour group
They had us do a little ritual with the pulleys to end the day.
I had to go get a few more pics of those who took such good care of us! :}
Though I had no idea they were about to do this! :}
Our cute waiters (hey, don't get your undies in a bundle...we were just enjoying the scenery is all! Don't worry, we were good girls! :})
We were ready for some food & a nice cold drink after that!
On our way back, it started to rain again. Funny how it was pouring on the way up, and after; but, stopped for us while we were doing the zip line.
This pour kid took the grunt of the water, that was building up on the roof, as it dumped on him when we turned the corner.
The tour included one more stop...a visit to the Don Crispin Tequila Factory. We got to munch on the Agave plants, and enjoy tasting different flavors (and who knew there were other flavors? I thought I knew my tequila well! :})
Cheers!
Just had to capture of few of the friends we spent the day with, like Debbie & Carlos here.
And this cute family from California
Bye friends!! :}
Oh, what a day!!! Something I can check off the Bucket List now!
