Road trip to Moab

Laurie was fortunate to extend her trip to 2 weeks, so she got in as much as she could while she was here. The girls definitely got their share of Utah in from the snowy mountains, down to Moab, to St. George/Mesquite, hiking Zions, and back to Salt Lake.

I luv my sistas! :}

Well, we all know Kaley loves to play with your hair. Good thing Sherrie is such a good sport! :} (and it tops this picture off with that look too..ha ha :})
Had to get some breakfast in before we hit the road!

We made it to Moab & were starving my this point...ready for a Mexican Fiesta! Here's Doug getting some bonding time in with Judy (he's such a good man! :})

Despite the fact the water was freezing, we just had to get in a river run while we were there! Of course Kaley is right by Jessica's side! :}
Laurie & her girls getting in all the adventure they can while they're here!
That's our Dyl..what can I say?!
Sherrie & Anjila ready to hit the raft
Glad our family could join them on this quick little road trip!
Checking out the scenery of Moab
Our tour guide who looks very much like our friend, Tony. Serious...you'd think they were twins!
Glad Brittani could join us too!
Carl, our tour guide, quickly caught on to Dylan's sense of humor. He thought he'd let him attempt to row for a bit..oh, not so easy is it Dyl? :}
Well, then Doug had to try too!
I love the red rocks of Southern Utah!
So Kaley got soaked on one of the little rapids, we hit it right on. As I said, the water was freezing...so, here's Daddy trying to warm her back up again!
She wasn't the only one who got it!
The infamous "Hole In The Rock" which used to be a diner. It has an entire home inside of it that the builder, Albert Christensen, & his wife lived in until they passed away. Pretty amazing to think of that really...who would of thought? (well, besides Albert)
FDR was the president who declared the Arches a National Park, so Albert, who also liked to do paintings & sculptures, dedicated this tribute to him.
The couple is even buried here at the rock
There's all kinds of funky gadgets on the site, a collection of odd things. I must say this jeep is pretty cool. Take a good look...it's all made of miscellaneous metal parts welded together, Along with all the license plates as the body.
Then it was time for lunch at Zax's
We couldn't leave without doing a little birthday celebration for Dylan who turned 11 the next day! (and yes, he meant to smear chocolate frosting all over his lips...again, that's our Dyl!)
We couldn't leave Moab without checking out The Arches! Here are the "Three Gossips"
The girls were enjoying the scenery & exploring the land!
They say the Three Gossips could tell you the secrets of the land (and one could only imagine all the stories they could tell!)
"Balanced Rock". Amazing it doesn't just fall. Some day I guess it may.
Here we stopped at "The Windows Section"...loving the road trip with my sisters!
Laurie sure loves Dougy too! :}
The infamous "Delicate Arch", which is really amazing to think how this structure formed like it did! Makes me want to say "Giddy up Cowboy!" :}
Our family enjoying the surroundings!
That's my sis!
Life is all about what you make of it, right? It's so easy to take what we have around us for granted. This is a quick trip from Salt Lake....we need to do this more often!!
